How to Identify Scams
What to Do If You Encounter a Scam
1. Stop and Disconnect
Don't respond, send money, click links, or download files. If you've already started a conversation, stop all communication immediately, especially if they've moved to WhatsApp or other messaging applications.
2. Report It
Let us know at Information.Security@mcsaatchi.com. Also report the scam to your local cybercrime authority or fraud reporting service (e.g., Action Fraud in the UK).
3. Protect Yourself
If you shared personal information or downloaded anything: Run a full antivirus scan on your device, change any passwords you may have used, monitor for any suspicious activity in your accounts.
